Vanilla Tournament II Age of Empires 3 (Starts July 17th)

PK Clan is pleased to announce a potential Summer tournament, Vanilla Tournament II.
Introduction
Because our last tournament was such a big success, we have seen fit to organize a second Age of Empires III tournament. We hope that this tournament will be better than the previous tournament as we develop the concept.
Applying for the Tournament
In order to enter the tournament, we would like to ask that all applicants sign up at the PK website (http://www.pkclan.net) and apply by posting in the appropriate tournament forum. Best 40 applicants/applications will be accepted into the tournament. Applicants will be asked to submit the following information in a post:
A)ESO User Name

C)Civilization In Case of Dispute

Tournament rules
1.Tournament Staff
The tournament staff will consist of {PK}Chicks,{PK}Clown, and {PK}Vaga.
2.Stages
A. Group Stage I
The tournament will begin with the division of the 40 accepted applicants into 8 groups that will consist of 5 players apiece. Each player will play the other members of their group once in a round robin format. This means that each player will play 4 games at this stage. Players will get 2 points for a win and 1 point for a loss. The top two seeds of each of the 8 groups will advance to the bracket stage whereby 16 players will be left standing.

B. Bracket Stage II
These 16 competitors will then form a single elimination bracket. This stage will consist of a best-of-3 16-player round. 8 players will advance to the Quarter-Final stage.
Maps Played Here: Game 1, Yucatan; Game 2, Saguenay; Game 3, Bayou.
C. Quarter-Final Stage III
This will be followed by 4 best-of-5 single elimination quarterfinal matches between the 4 pairs of players (8 players) that will be remaining. 4 players will advance to the Semi-Finals.
Maps Played Here: Game 1, Yucatan; Game 2, Saguenay; Game 3, Bayou; Game 4, New England; and Game 5, Pampas.
D. Semi-Final Stage IV
The Semi-Finals will consist of 2 best-of-5 single elimination semi-final matches between the 2 remaining pairs of players (4 players). 2 finalists will advance.
Maps Played Here: Game 1, Yucatan; Game 2, Saguenay; Game 3, Bayou; Game 4, New England; and Game 5, Pampas.
E. Final Stage V
The final match will be a best-of-7 series between the two remaining finalists in order to determine a champion.
Maps Played Here: Game 1, Yucatan; Game 2, Saguenay; Game 3, Bayou; Game 4, New England; Game 5, Pampas; Game 6 Yukon; Game 7, Hispaniola.
3. Seeding
A. Group Stage I; Players may play in there dedicated groups with any order.
B. Bracket Stage II; A1 Vs B2, A2 Vs H1, B1 Vs C2, C1 Vs H2, D1 Vs E2, D2 Vs E1, F1 Vs G2, F2 Vs G1.
C. Quarter-Final Stage III; Winner of (A1,B2) will play (A2,H1), (B1,C2) will play (C1,H2), (D1,E2) will play (D2,E1), (F1,G2) will play (F2,G1).
D. Semi-Final Stage IV; Winner of (A1,B2,A2,H1) will play (B1,C2,C1,H2), (D1,E2,D2,E1) will play (F1,G2,F2,G1).
E. Final Stage V; Winner of (A1,B2,A2,H1,B1,C2,C1,H2) will play (D1,E2,D2,E1,F1,G2,F2,G1).
F. Two players will advance from each group X1,X2, which will play X2,X1. Tournament tables will be set up through every stage.
4.Game Play
A. All games are expected to be rated and recorded. We expect players to then post these recorded games on the tournament section of the PK forum.
B. If a bug is identified or a disconnection occurs in the first two (2) minutes of a game, a game may be restarted if both players agree to do so or upon authorization by the tournament staff.
C. If a disconnection occurs later on in the game, the tournament staff may adjudicate and thus award a victory to the player that appeared to be winning. Otherwise, a close game without an obvious winner may be restarted based upon the decision of the tournament staff.
D. Players are not permitted to play the winning civilization twice in a row. This applies to matches in Bracket Stage II, Quarter-Final, Semi-Final and Final games
E. In the event of a dispute or a level of deliberation that is determined by the tournament staff to be excessively indecisive, players may be forced into using the civilization described as their preferred civilization on their application form. This proceeding is not preferred. Should this proceeding go through, record will be kept on the (Two) players in dispute for the following matches.
F. With regard to the maps where tournament matches will be played on, all group stage games will be played on Yucatan; and during the best-of-3 and best-of-5 series that will be played throughout the bracket stage, the map will depend on which game of that series is being played: game 1, Yucatan; game 2, Saguenay; game 3, Bayou; game 4, New England; game 5, Pampas; Game 6, Yukon; Game 7, Hispaniola.
5.Disqualifications
A. If you suspect your opponent has some sort of unfair external advantage (i.e., cheats, hacks, map visibility, trainers, etc.), finish the game and submit it for review with an explanation of why you think the game was unfair. If the tournament staff members find someone to be guilty of cheating, the cheater will be disqualified from the tournament and reported.
B. If a player repeatedly disconnects from games, disqualification may be considered.
C. Accounts used in the tournament must be used by one person, is sole owner of the account, and must be the main account of the registrant for proper seeding. Tempering with this rule will result in an immediate disqualification.
Commencement Date
The tournament staff would like to start the tournament around July 17, 2012.
Donations
We would like to have a tournament pot that is larger than the previous tournament pot of $200. As a result, the tournament staff would like to kindly ask for contributions from the PK community and all potential sponsors towards the tournament pot.
Prizes
At the conclusion of the tournament, the pot will be divided between the following individuals:
A)60% to the Champion
B)20% to the Runner-up
C)10% to the person judged to have been the most consistent and diligent scheduler
D)10% total or two 5% shares to the two players who are judged to have played the most competitive and exciting game of the tournament
